The Older Man

Poor Mattie, she likes older men.  Her obsession with Logan Rogers has moved beyond a childhood phase and is now full blown Fatal Attraction.  I am just so thankful that Logan pretends to love her back (for now) and is so sweet to her.  Logan just turned five and he had the coolest birthday party EVER at the Livingston Fire Department and Sacajawea Park.  Madeleine outdid herself and threw the coolest party a kid could dream of.  

These kids are so cute - Mattie, Logan, William, Ben, Anders and Finn.  Please notice the death grip Mattie has on Logan's hand.  And notice how happy this b-day boy is!

Yes, of course we have elk head (s) hanging in our Fire Department.

The LFD goes all out and lets the kids tour the entire station - ransacking rooms, climbing in ALL the trucks ... I was just hoping they didn't have a call and one of the engines didn't work because Matine had disconnected something super important.  They even let Logan go on top of the ladder truck and use the joystick to control the ladder coming down.  This was after they sent one of the hot firemen all the way to the top of the ladder.   The kids (and moms) could hardly stand it!

We told her not to get too used to the pole.  We need her to go to college first.

Pushing buttons and disengaging all important things I am sure.

I think Matine's favorite part was getting a picture taken (at her request) with Logan ("only Logan") on a fire truck.   Ah, my heart breaks and melts for this gal.  She wears her heart on her sleeve and falls so hard! 

Heaven.  I think she can hardly beleive she has him all to herself for these brief moments.

All in all, a pretty darn perfect day.  Weather was perfect, kids were adorable, Madeleine's cake was the most delicious piece of art I had ever seen, and a day at the Park with your friends is just about as good as it gets!
