The Golden Birthday

I turned 29 years old (for the 1st time) on the 29th this year! It was very exciting. Many (including me) had a lingering thought that maybe I would get to share the day with our daughter too . . . BUT, she has made her point - she does NOT want to share her special day with anyone else . . . At least not yet.

I do however share this day with our favorite little girl, Libby. Libby turned FIVE this year. As you know, she is a princess and refuses to wear anything but dresses, usually pink. She loves to dance, twirl and be a lady.

Pete and I saw this over the top frilly pink dress a few months back and HAD to get it for her. We took it to her on her birthday and she of course, LOVED it!

Pete and his Princess in her new dress.

Pete just could not stand to make Libby wait to have her dollhouse put together... so on the spot he perfectly constructed it and then proceeded to play dolls with her... With all my hormones and the general sweetness of it all, I was actually teary eyed watching and imagining him with our own little Girl ... ANY day!

Peter and Judith Alkaly, our dear friends who we visited in New York in December adore Libby as much as we do. After she opened her present from us, she got to open the big box that has been taunting her for days! It was a DOLL HOUSE! She immediately wanted Peter to put it together for her and start playing with it. Peter and Judith - good choice - she LOVES it!

More Pictures of Libby and her dollhouse will be posted tonight!

That night, I went out with two of my favorite gals for wine and pizza. I know I will not have too many more of these nights (just for the near future) - so it was a real treat. Thanks Madeleine and Christina!

Happy Bday! Looks like you had a great time. I love the anticipation of when the baby will chose to show up! I know you hate it though- :) Do you have a pool going with date and weight, etc....? We had a blast doing that.
