Plummer Canyon - Baby on Board!

Baby Howell's first backcountry ski trip!!! - 27 weeks in the belly! I am growing!

The gang - Pete, Brooke, Jeannette, Matt, Mike and Laurie.

Sunrise in the Tetons..

Sunset in the Tetons.

You take 6 great friends, 5 days, some kick-butt snow, gorgeous weather, and a desire to get the heck out of reality for a few days and you have the recipe for ---- well, you can see for yourself.

As usual, we took the 5 hour trek up and in to the Plummer Canyon yurt (about 5 miles) to 8,400 feet. We spent each day skinning out and finding nice, mellow and safe powder runs, took a lot of pictures, and came back to our cozy home each night for rounds and rounds of cribbage and FOOD.

This year we created a 3-way pairs cribbage game that made it able for us ALL to play together - it got ugly and pretty funny.

We watched Matt's hair get weirder and greasier each day . . . Body odor get weirder and grosser each minute . . . Socks and clothes morphed into science projects . . . And as friends and couples we got to know each other even more intimately (but not in a gross way).

This year we had no sicknesses, injuries or wierd circumstances - except for the 6 month pregnant lady. I managed to have myself a great time and not over do it. My body felt great and I was able to ski and skin and climb and play with the rest of them - maybe a bit slower and not for quite as long - but I was happy with it. I was so excited to show this Baby how to ski and play in the mountains and work up a bit of a sweat.

The weather was so nice, I even laid out one day - in a tank top - on a sleeping pad in the snow.... Baby Howell LOVED the sun on the belly.

We just have to say - we have some KICK ASS FRIENDS who are so much fun to hang out with. The little round yurt can be a pretty small space, but with great people who have a sense of humor - well, it just makes for some great memories.

Next year we might try a different location to try some new runs . . . Although we are pretty fond of this one. Check out our slideshow of the pics from the trip here. Or click on the box below and you can view them too...
