Most people who don't live here in Montana think that it snows all the time, that it is constantly frigid temperature and that we only have wood heat and power. Not true at all.
In Livingston here, in the actual township, it can go months in the winter without snow accumulation. It snows outside of town and the hills that we look at every day, but having deep snow in the yards or on the streets isn't always the case.
Well, we have had a white, white house and street for weeks now! We are so excited about it. Yesterday we got another good bout of the fluffy cold stuff and it just makes this winter feel like a real winter.
While Pete worked at the Ranch and after I assisted him with a few minor projects, I strapped on my XC skis and took the dogs for a couple mile XC ski in the hills. It was gorgeous, not too cold (warmed to about 10 degrees) and the snow fell the entire time. It felt great to work up a bit of a sweat and exercise my pregnant hind end. I decided to start talking to the baby when no one is around to hear my crazy thoughts - so Baby Howell got an earful for hour hour long trek. I think it liked it because he/she was pretty active in the belly last night!
I also spent some quality time with our horses. They were in my hip pocket all afternoon and wanting to cuddle and nuzzle. Not quite lap animals, but they really don't know that.
By the way, we are at 21 weeks today! Here are some 21 week belly shots.
