Once upon a time . . .

Two very cool people met and fell in love eight years ago in Anchorage, Alaska. They gathered all their friends, near and far to Montana, their new home to say "I will love you forever" by the Yellowstone River. They used the symbolism of the River and it's currents to illustrate their bond and commitment to each other.

It was beautiful! On the grounds of Yellowstone Valley Ranch, a picturesque backdrop of the Absaroka-Beartooth mountains framed Matt and Jeannette along the River. 150 guests gathered to witness the most sincere and sweet ceremony of a most sincere and sweet couple.

Matt made a pact when he was a child with his 3 best friends that they would all be best-men in each of their weddings. Matt's 3 buddies kept their word and they toasted the couple - 3 times. We all danced and danced and danced until our legs hurt (or until we had to shut it down at 1:30am) to Ten Foot Tall and 80 Proof. They have given me proof again that they are the PERFECT live band for any occasion where you want to see people get their boogie on.

I got to dance ALL night with my husband (who is a MUCH better dancer than I). We twirled and spun and two-stepped - reminding me our very first weekend together - dancing in Miles City (this will need to be an entirely different post). And, just like our first dancing experience together - I got an elbow in the face again! No blacking out and hitting the floor this night... just a good fat / bloody lip.

The kids at this wedding were terrific. Every single one of them partied nearly as hard as their grown-up counterparts. The cutest moment might have been watching little Brad Cox grab Ellie Wester (both 3 yrs old, drag her to the dance floor and proceed to mimic dancing like his mom and dad were doing. He was doing his version of spinning her and holding her hand. With the biggest grin, he wouldn't let her get away when she was done dancing. I think there was a little foreshadowing there.

Congratulations Matt and Jeannette Blank! We love you, wish you many MORE years of friendship, love and deep respect and admiration for each other. You are truly a couple to be admired and we are so happy you let us celebrate with you!
