I am very excited about a new book club that I will be attempting to actually PARTICIPATE in and attend.
I usually say "I'm in a book club," get the list of books, read 1/2 of the first one and then have a million excuses (usually legitimate) why I can't make any of the gatherings.
Not this time. I am excited about a simple monthly gathering of fun intelligent gals. It's not a big time commitment each month and I am in the need to expand my reading selections. I have been stuck on semi trashy chick lit for about a year now. While fun and entertaining for sure, I think I could stretch my mind a bit more.
I'd love your help --- do any of you have any of these books? I'd love to not have to buy them. If any of the books below are sitting on your shelf gathering dust, please, I'd be happy to help you do some fall cleaning!
October- Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich
November- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
December- Whatever It Takes by Paul Tough
January- The Shack by William Young
February- Sex Lives of Cannibals by J. Maarten Troost
March- Look Me In The Eye by John Elder Robison
April- Happy All The Time by Laurie Colwin
May- Up in the Air by Walter Kirn
June- Prophet’s Daughter by Erin Prophet

I also have the shack....but unfortunately I now buy all books online and read them on my Kindle....if Micca can't get you the shack, you can have mine!
Sorry. I don't have any, but the list looks like a good one! I've read the Shack but gave it away already! I'm a huge believer in Paying Forward my books! :)
