A little renewal

I just ran across the wedding vows we wrote for our wedding. We only said them in October, but it so special to me still. The best part is that reading them today - I know we have kept them - every word. I know it has only been 10 months, but hey, isn't marriage a daily commitment and recognition of your love and promises? Maybe reading them every 10 months isn't such a bad idea. Boy do I love that man.

I give to you my promises before our families and friends

I promise to stay by your side.

I promise to love you in sickness and in health,

in joy and in sorrow.

I promise to love you

with life-giving love.

I promise to keep myself open to you

And to share with you my innermost fears and feelings,

secrets and dreams.

I promise to grow along with you,

to be willing to face change as we both change

and to keep our relationship alive and new.

I promise to fill your days with hope, romance, and sunshine.

I promise to be your greatest admirer,

to hold you in the highest regard,

to support you in all your dreams,

to rejoice with you in your victories,

and help you to achieve your goals.

I promise to be your best friend,

to always respect you,

and to put you first in my life for all my life.

Until the end of my days I will trust and honor you,

For you are God’s precious gift to me,

My partner in life, and my one true love.

I promise that where you go I will go,

And where you stay, I will stay,

For now, and forever.
