Brooke got a quick lesson on her snowmobile from Peter. Learning how to turn quicker, without dumping it over.
Our friends Sean, Chuck and Alisa (from OK) met us up there for what ended up being a "5-hour Tour" of some pretty burly terrain. The typical trails that we ski and ride on were covered and barely recognizable. We had a lot of fun falling up-hill for a few hours, breaking trail, and often sinking into 5 foot drifts of snow.
The dogs... Oh, the dogs. Oliver and Gaucho quickly looked like a bag of grapefruits. The cold and somewhat wet snow quickly formed in little balls attached to their fur. The further we went, the larger they got until they literally couldn't walk. The balls grew so big their little legs were too far apart to move. We had to perform a few "snow ball dissections" on them to get them to a semi-comfortable state to get home.
All in all - a BEAUTIFUL DAY! It is so wonderful to see such snow. It feels it has been a century since winter really felt like winter. The storm that was working as we skied yesterday is hopefully going to stick around and drop another 18 inches more! Yippee!!!
