The Dr. is IN!!!

Last Thursday night a few of us (Laurie, Mike, John, Peter, Drake, Ivy, Scottie, Jeanette, and Matt) went out to celebrate the fact that Matt defended his doctoral thesis! He is now a Dr. of Engineering that has something to do with the environment and fish....That is not an official title of course, but it is what my little brain can understand.

This is big news folks. For years now Matt has been working on this mystery project, traveling all over the region doing research on fish passages, working until the wee hours of the morning, and occasionally (I mean VERY occasionally) had to pass up a good ski day or trip to write or work.

The day finally came and Mr. Matt Blank is now officially DR. BLANK!!!!

We celebrated in high style at the local Livingston haunts... drank cheap beer, disgusting shots, and did lots of yelling and laughing at the size of Matt's enormous head (I mean brain).

By the time we got to The Murray the boys were obsessed with the Hunting Pro video game and they immediately began a competition that left their hot wives and fiances standing at the pool table making fun of all the macho-ness that developed out of shooting video elk and bunnies. By the end of the night there were some chick fights and I think the boys were into it.

So, from this day forth Jeanette will be living high on the hog and enjoying the financial fruits of her Dr. Husband (not really) and they will now be able to print "Dr. Blank and Jeanette Romig on their wedding invites for their upcoming June wedding. Most of all we are thrilled to have Matt "back" and he won't be distracted from hunting of fishing with school any longer!

We are so proud of Matt and will all feel dumber in his presence....
