Livingston - the real Windy City
Last night we experienced 81 mph winds! Sustained. It was crazy. Windows knocking, sounding like they will buckle or shatter, stuff flying down the streets, power outages, fires, downed power lines and blinking lights across the valley.
We awoke to the beauty and calm of falling snow - our first here in town for this winter. But we also awoke to one of our 40 ft pine trees being UPROOTED from the ground and taken down. Thankfully it was not near our house (or any neighbors) and caused no damage to property or person.
We are now left with the questions- what to do with it? And, how can we replace the privacy it gave is so nicely?
Livingston is known for the winds and many of us are convinced that it "keeps the riff raff out." There are many, I like to say "snobs" that think the wind is awful and there are too many "wierd" or crazy people in town... I say - bring more of the wind and wierdos... They keep the town clean and really fun.

Last night was crazy!! The power was out at the ranch for over 8 hours last night. Thank god for cards, candles and a wood burning stove!!
